What Is A Veteran?
A veteran is defined by federal law, moral code and military service as "Any, Any, Any"... A military veteran is Any person who served for Any length of time in Any military service branch. See Below:

War Veteran
Any GI (Government Issue) ordered to foreign soil or waters to participate in direct or support activity against an enemy. The operant condition: Any GI sent in harm's way!!!
Combat Veteran
Any GI who experiences any level of hostility for any duration resulting from offensive, defensive or friendly fire military action involving a real or perceived enemy in any pre-or post-designated theater of combat (war) operations.

Public Law 104-106-110 Stat 349: The term "Cold War" means the period beginning on September 2, 1945, and ending on August 21, 1991. It is used at the Department of Defense. These veterans are listed as "Peace-time Veterans" by each Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office.
Without a formal declaration of war for the time period in which they served, veterans who did not serve during one of the following conflicts:
· Spanish-American War
· Mexican border period
· World War 1
· World War II
· Korean Conflict
· Vietnam War
· Persian Gulf War
· The period beginning on the date of any future declaration of war by the Congress and ending on the date prescribed by Presidential proclamation or concurrent resolution of the Congress
are not classified as a veteran of war for VA purposes.

-Veterans who receive legal help or aid from advocacy groups receive on average $11,162 in Veteran Disability Benefits, compared with $4,728 for those who go it alone.

For (6) consecutive years our Post has been the largest in membership in the 1st District. The officer team is proud of that fact and we are both grateful and proud of each and everyone of you.
