We serve our communities because we want to make a difference and we want to be good neighbors.The theme of The American Legion is “Still Serving America.” That theme has a special meaning.
We, the members of Coleman A. Young Post 202-served our great nation in the armed forces; when we returned from service, we took off the military uniform and donned an American Legion cap. And as Legionnaires, we are “Still Serving America.
”We offer assistance to families of deployed military personnel.
The American Legion National Emergency Fund awards cash grants to our own members who are victims of natural disasters.We help veterans and their families in any way that we can.
Through our American Legion Service Officers, we’re still helping veterans navigate the federal government’s complex claim-filing system.
Service to children and youth is one of the founding pillars of our organization. We sponsor programs which instill traditional values in young people, including Scouting, American Legion Baseball, Junior Shooting Sports, the National High School Oratorical Contest, The American Legion Boys State and Student Trooper program; in addition The American Legion sponsors scholarships for qualifying youth.

Become a Sponsor by choosing a legion program such as Boys State, Student Trooper etc. and let us know how many students you would like to sponsor, or donate to another program designating where you want your donation applied. A donation of at least $350.00 is required.
